Stool Test + Blood Test -

Blood tests (for antibody) are used to screen for H.pylori. They remain positive for many months after treatment so can only be used as the initial test. Urine antibody is a "pregnanacy style" urine test. Accuracy is slightly less than blood tests. A negative blood test is good evidence that Hp is NOT present. Use it to exclude the diagnosis (but no test is 100% perfect remember).

Stool Test + Blood Test -

I've just taken a stool and blood test, the stool shows positive (weak line) but the blood test is negative (no sign of a line). Is it worth repeating both tests?

The blood test is normally more accurate in a negative result.

The stool, however, has too many bacteria and may have cross-reaction with the antigen test.

Do you suffer from gastric symptoms at the moment?
Do you have access to breath test?

I have hypothyroidism (Newly diagnosed, possibly had for 10years) and this has caused constipation with stomach pains most of the time (bloating after food).

Is it worth repeating the blood and stool test? The breath test is very expensive where I live.

yea... I think an accurate breath test is better than multiple inaccurate tests.
