So here is my H pylori antibody test results.

My understanding is
IgG = chronic infection
IgM = acute infection
IgA= ?? Severe inflammation per labcorps guideline?

See below, From labcorps test menu website.

"Additional Information
Circulating antibodies to H pylori are predominantly of the IgG class. A systemic response of the IgA type is usually less pronounced but, if significant, may indicate a more severe inflammation. A few patients develop only antibodies to IgA. IgM antibodies are rarely found and appear to be of minor importance."

2nd question.

If I eradicated h pylori, I'll retest in 3 weeks. Should I expect my current IgG level go down if I was to check my IgG antibody like in 3 months, or will it sit at around my current level for months even after eradication?

IgG is long term antibody
IgA is mainly on the mucosa layer. eg. your eyes, lung, stomach, etc
IgM is when you just got an infection. It's not perfect matching to the pathogen. So it's like a draft blueprint. Once your immune system has a better understanding of what the pathogen looks like, then IgG will kick in with the best matching antibody.

So in 3 months time, if you dont have H. pylori, you would expect the IgG to drop. by how much? that's subjective. Everyone is different. Some people can remain positive for years.
