Re: New to this site/with hp

Dont give up so quickly. Perhaps your H. pylori is resistant to your previous treatment. Can I suggest you to do an gastroscopy, get a culture of your H. pylori and test for antibiotic sensitivity?

Your specialist will then be able to prescribe the right antibiotic to kill it.

Re: H Pylori and perforated ulcers

when bacteria get into the blood stream, it becomes bacteriaemia and can give all sorts of complications. It is extremely rare to see H. pylori bacteriaemia. According to this paper http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3008481/?tool=pubmed They described the bacteriaemia that was cause by H. ...

According to this paper

assuming you did the same stool test, it should have the same sensitivity as the urea breath test.

perhaps you can monitor your own gastric health for a few months and repeat either breath test or stool test.

Re: How should I do to avoid transmission?

glad to have you here. dont get too worry. It's not easy to transmit. if your family member has it, most likely they got it long time ago. You probably want to have them check as well. in case you get re infected by them.

tell us what's your breath test result later on.

finish your quadruple therapy now, wait for a month, then do another breath test. i am not sure the accuracy of stool test, but breath test is sensitive up to 95%.

glad to hear that your other family members are well. we'll see how it goes with your second breath test a month later.

Re: Symptoms returned. Quadruple therapy without test?????

It's ok. when you finish your current therapy, wait for a month, then get your breath test check again. perhaps, you can list down what antibiotic you have taken in your first therapy, and what are you taking currently. so, if your next breath test comes back positive, then these antibiotic informat...

Re: New to this site/with hp

If your second breath test shows positive after a month of first treatment, then you should consider a different combination of antibiotics for H. pylori treatment. Because it is possible that the H. pylori is resistant to the first treatment. If the breath test shows negative after a month of first...

Re: Symptoms returned. Quadruple therapy without test?????

Hi, I think it's reasonable to test if you have the bacteria before you take any medication. blindly taking antibiotics will only upset your gut's normal flora.
