Sorry to hear what happened to you. Unfortunately antibiotic is the only way to get rid of H. pylori for now. Are you allergic to amoxicillin? How do you know if you still have H. pylori now?

make sense. it is true that not all IBS like symptoms are caused by H. pylori. Nevertheless, it is good to have H. pylori eradicated.

sorry for the typo... i meant to say even with special HP specific stains, the pathologist will not see HP. if you have taken antibiotics 4-8 weeks ago, then if the treatment works, your gastritis will gradually recover, which can be revealed by histology. if the treatment failed, then the gastritis...

you can take bismuth together with the antibiotics.

you can drink sugary or non-sugary drinks while having antibiotics.

Alright, thanks. With the Histology still be affected if I didn't do the Endoscopy for at least 4-8 weeks after taking them? That's pretty much the last thing I'll ask for now. If you are over 50 year old, then you should get an endoscopy done, as a baseline reference. In case you need another endo...

you'll probably going to be asleep and not remember anything during the colonoscopy and endoscopy. So dont worry about it.

histology is when the biopsy is taken to the laboratory for examination.

since you are definitely going to do the endoscopy, why dont you take the antibiotics after that?
the antibiotics and PPI will affect the histology and give false negative results.

and yes, stomach acid is not a routine check. So you will need to request your gastroenterologist to check it.

first of all, congratulation that you are now free of H. pylori. yea.. it's common to have "episodes" after H. pylori eradication. some of the symptoms can be due to the damage done by H. pylori. some of these wound can take a long time to heal. hopefully your episodes will come less and less freque...
