re: Thai patient, air bubble caught in throat, catching Hp

Hi, there are two questions here: 1. Symptoms of something in the throat or chest: It s hard to see how Helicobacter in the stomach could cause that. However somthing like a hiatus hernia or altered stomach motility could be a related cause. But if the surgeon did not test for helicobacter it is a s...

Re: Treatment done, but nurse practioner won't follow up

You should wait 28 days after finishing treatment then have a urea breath test. Read about it here: http://www.trimed.com.au The PYtest is available in USA from Kimberly Clark. :o

Re: Will AntiFlu vaccine (HPPT based) treat Hp gastritis?

Good question (and thank you for the nice comments about our web site). It is early days in the vaccine research, but I can say that even though Helicobacter is difficult to control, we can make it deliver vaccine antigens such as the surface proteins of cholera. You can read about it at the Ondek w...

Re: Helicobacter aftermath

Hi there. I am not sure that you have anything like salmonella. These are irritable bowel type symptoms but nobody knows what causes that either (it ain't stress!) so here are a few suggestions. 1. Make sure that the Hp is eradicated (you need a brteath test most likely). THIS IS ESSENTIAL BEFORE DO...

Re: Women's problems and Hp (fertility, discharge, malaise etc)

All these problems could be bacterial (not even from H.pylori) and they respond to very strong antibiotic treatment. I used to see stomach problems improve when OBGYN doctors gave everyone doxycycline, metronidazole and augmentin. Probably some of the patients really had gastritis and/or ulcers rath...

Re: Klaritromicin and failed treatment

Hello, it is nice to hear from someone in Kazakhstan. Your question is probably answered in the pdf file we have on line (see the amoxicillin question). Your germ is resistant to clarithromyicin by now. Treatment may be successful with amoxicillin 1G three times daily, rabeprazole 20 mg three times ...

Re: After Four Treatments H.pylori still detected in Stool

Hi there Lina K. Jim Asked me to answer this one. Firstly, it is most likely that a stool antibody test was done - (it is very difficult to culture Hp from stool). But if the stool test is positive then the germs are still in your stomach. Breath tests are a bit more accurate if you really need to k...

Re: Amoxicillin and penicillin allergy (what can I use?)

There are several wasy to treat H.pylori without using penicillin. Firstly, you still need to block acid so that part of the treatment remains. Clarithromycin with metronidazole for 10 days is an alternative choice. After that combinations of PPI, quinolone and rafabutin have been successful. Bismut...
