How many years before Chronic Inactive Gastritis becomes IM?

Hi. I was also diagnosed after endoscopy with H Pylori and mild chronic inactive gastritis in September 22.

Went through the antibiotics + PPI course and had another endoscopy in March 23 which confirmed Helicobacter had gone or not seen but Mild chronic inactive gastritis was still presen t.

The doctor did see mild gastritis in endoscopy which was confirmed by the pathology.

Isn't gastritis an inflammation of the stomach lining? If this inflammation is not causing what else could be causing the symptoms..

BTW I don't have ulcer. Just mild chronic gastritis. I am worried that if mild chronic inactive gastritis does not heal is the next stage and ulcer?

Will being on PPI for say 6 to 12 months help in the healing the chronic inactive gastritis?

Can long term stress aggrevate gastritis and slow down the healing process ?

After 3 treatments for H Pylori over 2.5 years I think I may be finally free of the bug! fingers crossed

Under what scenarios could a breath test and/or stool test be NEGATIVE (with NO PPI for at least 14 days before these tests) but the histology of the biopsy taken returns a H Pylori POSTIVE. Have you come across such cases?
