Re: Urea breath test vs blood antibodies IgG?

Thanks so much for your reply!
By the way, I wanted to ask you about fecal antibody tests for h.pilory - are they currently considered accurate? I get they're noninvasive and not extremely expensive, but can they be used as standalone tests or do they need to be confirmed by other methods?
A couple ...

Re: Urea breath test vs blood antibodies IgG?

Hi! My IgG serum antibodies are as follows:

December 1st 2020 - 10.52
February 4th, 2021 - 6.12
September 23th, 2021 - 5.0

What bothers me a bit is the fact that the antibodies are still detected and fall into the uncertain category (<5 would be negative), although many months have passed since ...

Urea breath test vs blood antibodies IgG?

Hi! I have gastritis and need to test for h. pylori. My stool antigen test was negative some time ago. However, to exclude the bug my doc ordered me to do a breath test. The thing is, as it requires a patient to drink orange juice, I don't think I will be able to tolerate it. Can a quantitative IgG ...

Re: Positive biopsy in March → no specific treatment → Negative stool test November

Hi! Did another gastroscopy today, which revealed I still have gastritis, bile reflux, and my lower esophagus is a bit inflamed. Should better adhere to my diet, I suppose. However, the biopsy for h pylori is equivocal this time (very weak reaction as my examination protocol says). I guess, I can ...

Re: Positive biopsy in March → no specific treatment → Negative stool test November

Thanks! But, can it be that my stomach acid is so low that both tests failed to detect H Pylori and the body is not able to make enough antibodies? Also, how can I be sure I will not contract it in the future, if I don't have it now? Should I avoid eating in public places/cafes, for instance? Thanks!

Re: Positive biopsy in March → no specific treatment → Negative stool test November

Hi! The new results are as follows:
stool antigen - negative
blood igG - 6.12 (still equivocal as between 5 and 15) - down from 10.6 two months ago.
Can I consider the bug gone? :)

Re: Positive biopsy in March → no specific treatment → Negative stool test November

Hi! I've just done the same tests at the same lab: 1) stool antigen 2) blood igG. Not too early, how do you think? Awaiting the results in a few days. Thank so much for your helpful advice!

Re: Positive biopsy in March → no specific treatment → Negative stool test November

Hi! The mystery continues :)
My igG test showed 10.5. According to my lab, less than 5 means negative, more than 15 is positive, while I'm stuck somewhere in between in the "f...k knows" zone

Re: Positive biopsy in March → no specific treatment → Negative stool test November

Interesting. So did you ever get a positive result of H. pylori? how was it confirmed? There are very rare cases where PPI alone get rid of H. pylori. Perhaps you are very lucky.

Hi! First, thanks very much for your time! I did get a positive biopsy result in March 2020. It was some kind of ...
