you need to stop PPI for at least 2 weeks before follow up breath test. ranitidine is fine. so you can take ranitidine for two weeks, then stop ranitidine the night before breath test. can H. pylori go away naturally? Reduced PPI(Raberprazole or omeprazole) dosage to just one 20mg dose per day and avoiding tea/coffee and extra spicy food. I have somehow maintained the burning sensation to a tolerable level. Have lost some weight and after a week I will switch to Ranitidine to get a follow up test. Apart from this...

hopefully it's just one of those flare up episodes. You can continue ranitidine whenever you need and stop whenever you want. Remember to get a follow up test 2 weeks after stopping omeprazole/rabeprazole/antibiotics. I assume you have some hope that cefixime had some effect on my presumed H pylori...

PPI can reduce H. pylori load. But it cannot remove the H. pylori. As long as there is H. pylori, you will always have inflammation, and your condition will never improve. most importantly, do you feel that it's helpful? if not, you can ask your doctor for TID to try out.

you can continue omeprazole or ranitidine or both. some people take them for years. Should I keep taking the same PPI ? One update is that the frequency and intensity of the burning pain in belly has gone down but maybe that could also be because I have been taking either Ranitidine or omeprazole interchangeably for the last 2-3 months at least but started taking the regular dosage...

Like I posted above, its actually prescribed for UTI/Prostatitis and for which the dosage was for 14 days.
